Money = Happiness?

The saying goes: Money cannot buy you happiness. That's true right? Sure. Its very true. But I say that money amplifies certain emotions that a person experiences. Say for instance a person is lonely and longing for some companionship, being broke on top of that increases the sadness of that emotion and makes it seem worse than it is. if a person feels really stressed about their academics, not having as much income as you would like increases the stress level.

So if money isn't the key to happiness, then what is? I think I have an idea of what it is. I believe that Love and/or being wanted/needed is where happiness lies. Because if you take a look at good relationships the person always says "they are my better half" or "the best thing that has ever happened to me." So I believe that the key to a person's happiness is in positive emotions from other people towards them.

So, next time you talk to someone or one of you're friends talk about how bad everything is going and how their fed up with certain things. Ask them, ask them about what's wrong and about their love life. I guarantee that they talk about bills or lack of finances and a lack of intimacy in their personal life.

Peace.

RANDOM mess

Whats Good...

I know I have not been on top of this blog whatsoever. My Bad. Let me bring this back in with a little comedy. Check out this video.

HAHAHA. Those were 100 pound dumbbells by the way.

I used to be able to do them once...but hey...its whatever.

In recent NBA news the pre-season has officially begun. I'm really anxious to see how a couple of players perform in the NBA. Those two players are Blake Griffin and DeMarcus Cousins. Blake Griffin was my projected rookie of the year the year he was drafted, so I'm going to stick with him again. His injury was misdiagnosed so he's had a lot longer to work on his game and just become a better all around player. So I'm expecting him to do WORK.

DeMarcus Cousins is just an intriguing player to me. His play style kind of reminds me of how I play the game. Good footwork down low, good mid range jump shot...big body. So I'm kinda anxious just to see how effective he will be once he makes it to the big league playing against the big boys. I think he has the chance to be really good and being drafted to the Sac-town Kings will give him the chance to play early and often. Because face it Spencer Hawes is a bum LOL. Sorry Spence, you're not really a bum...but He is not really that great.

That's it for right now. Holla back at ya boy.

Beginning My P90X journey...

This is a video I did before I started the first workout of my P90X journey. Currently I am in day 2 of the second week and I am loving it. I encourage anyone who wants to get fit to try it. It is tough but hey...it is definitely worth the work. I feel better after just one week.

What's been going on...

Hey!
My bad I Haven't been posting on here in a while I have gotten kind of side tracked with a few things that have been going on out here lately. Recently I have started P90x and I'm trying to follow that all the way through and do all the workouts and hope that it will help me change my body and my life.

Because its funny, once people lose the weight they've been working for, all the sudden other areas of their life get better as well. All of the sudden you find them with a steady girlfriend/boyfriend....they receive a nice job opportunity, etc. So I am just hoping the same rubs off on me and I can continue to do these and watch my life as well as my body transform in the process.

The Lakers have won it all since I last blogged...THANK GOD. I won't go to far into that. I'll save that for another installment because I can go on and on about the NBA. So I'll holla.

MJ vs. Kobe ?? Get serious...

Look...I won't get into all of the accolades that Mike has accumulated. But, I will throw out a few that I believe separates Mike from Kobe. Here's one:
1987-88 Micheal Jordan was NBA Most Valuable Player(5 times) and Defensive Player of the Year.
Also, Mike was ALL-NBA First Team every year except his rookie season, which he was second team, and his second year in which he didn't play much because of a broken foot.

Another thing, I was just watching ESPN First Take and Jamel Hill said that Mike didn't have another athletic rival to go against, saying that Kobe has LeBron, Melo, and Dwyane Wade. Are you Kidding me? None of those guys have played against a team like the 1988-89 Detroit Pistons who went 63-19 and played FEROCIOUS team defense.

Seriously, how about Magic Johnson? James Worthy, Charles Barkely, Larry Bird, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Penny Hardaway, Grant Hill to name a few right of the top of my head.

Now I do believe that there are parts of Kobe's game that are comparable, if not as good as Jordan's. For instance his jump shot, Kobe and Mike Jumpshot are just as good as each other's. Kobe might have the edge from long range, but Mike being clutch evens that out.
Kobe's leadership is also comparable, but thats as far as I'm gonna go. Im done...

You know what I've Noticed? Vol. 1

You know what I've noticed? The pickiest eaters can't even cook!! So, that basically means, you can give orders on how you want your food prepared, but you can't even make it yourself! That's so annoying. There is nothing more annoying than a picky eater. I want to choke y'all, seriously. I swear that just bugs me, then when you get your food...they wanna look all close at what you're eating then be like "eww"...Eww yourself before I slap you son!

Anyway, you know what I've noticed? Why is the single female friend the one with all the relationship advice? Is that not backwards? I would rather have, and this is me, advice from someone in a good relationship that they are happy in. Oh well...women are from Venus.

You know what I've noticed? Brothas who don't hoop or haven't played any organized ball always have the most to say about college and NBA basketball. C'mon brotha, there are certain things you won't understand unless you played yourself. Not saying that you have to have played to know the game...I am not saying that.

Dwight Howard- Pros & Cons

Man, I love watching Dwight Howard play, but the analysts always take about his game needs to evolve on the offensive end. Personally after checking out Dwight Howard's frame and his mechanics...I just don't believe that he can be a great post player on the offensive end. He doesn't have the footwork or just the mechanics period for the Hakeem and McHale moves. Also improving his free-throw shooting will not happen either because for some reason he acts like he can't extend his arms on the release. C'mon man, that release on your free-throws has got to change for you to become a reliable free-throw shooter especially if your a star player. In the clutch I know his team and coach has to be sweating bullets when he's at the line.
But with all that being said, you cannot go wrong with his defense and rebounding. Those are the two crucial ingredients to winning and winning a championship. He rebounds and blocks shots at a very high rate which allows his to score points because he is very active on the offensive glass. His offensive rebounding allows him to get a lot of cheap buckets which boosts his points per game, but lets don't get this confused with him being an offensive threat. If you notice the Boston Celtics are playing Dwight straight up and not double teaming him, which is smart because he doesn't have a go to post move and he can't kick it out to open shooters, so that messes up there whole offensive plan.
All in all, Dwight is a really good player, but needs to evolve a little before he is considered great.

Someone answeer me this...

Okay, for the last two years I have been without a vehicle and the ladies in my life have been reluctant to come see me or whatever because they are tired of driving all the time. haha I can understand that because gas is not cheap. But what I don't understand is that now that I have a vehicle, those same girls are willing to come see me all of the sudden. I haven't had to drive to see anyone yet. Why is that they wouldn't come holla at me without a vehicle, but now they don't have a problem coming to see me...I don't get it.

Someone please explain that to me lol

Mirage-on Rondo

Okay, let me get this out before I go in. Rajon Rondo is a decent pg with great number this post season. I think he is definitely one of the top 5 point guards in the league.

Alright, with that being said, please...please stop talking about how he is the best PG in the L. Y'all are killing me with that mess. The casual fan lives in the moment, and that's fine with me, that's why they are the casual fan. But I believe that Rondo's production is a product of the great system he is in with 3 superstar players on his team (although it kills me inside to call Pierce a superstar). With all of the attention on those 3, Rondo has the freedom to shoot open shots and pick his spots the entire game.

I think that if you place Rondo on another team that his numbers would be cut in half. Lets say, Minnesota. Sure they have Kevin Love....and Corey Brewer, who are decent. But I think that his assists definitely go down and his point production. Rebounding is something you cant teach because its effort, so I think that he still might have some big rebounding games. But as far as scoring and getting assists...yea, those are going to fall like Grant Hill when Kobe shook him up in Game 2. LOL. Sorry Grant, but that was funny.

All in all, Rondo is a good player, but let's don't get ridiculous and go overboard with comparisons and rankings.

Holla.

2010 NBA Free-Agency

Okay Ladies and Gentleman, grab your popcorn and a nice cozy seat because this show called the NBA Free-Agency is going to be very interesting. There are a huge number of high-profile stars who's contracts are up now that the season is coming to a close and Teams have been clearing up cap space just to pursue those players.

Okay first off I want to talk about Lebron James, who is the headliner of this whole thing. Let's think about something first, New York, to me is not an option. People can say all they want about how its a bigger market bigger stage, whatever. I believe that LeBron has more basketball savvy than that, than to just go to NY just to make more money. Now if we were talking about Tracy McGrady, then that's another thing. But LeBron is not going to want to get beat nigh-in and night-out. Secondly, Lebron is world-wide renown already. Going to NY is not going to make him any bigger of a star than he already is. He is already the face of the NBA....young, athletic and exciting to watch. Everyone knows of him. Point being: NY would be a dumb decision to me.

Now the one superstar I think that is going to be a guaranteed move: Chris Bosh. Chris Bosh is a budding superstar who gets a lot less recognition that he is deserving because of his locale and his team. Toronto doesn't get much national TV exposure and they aren't a very good team at all anyway. If Chris Bosh wants to win a title or at least be able to contend for one, he is going to have to relieve himself of his tie to the Raptors. I think that Chris Bosh can't be happy with not making the playoffs and there are teams who contend willing to pay him, that there is a SLIM chance of him returning to Canada. I think a good situation for him would be to go to Chicago or Miami. They both fit his style of play and LeBron is not going to either one of those places.

Now Wade, on the other hand. I think that he isn't going anywhere. He is playing in South Beach, and he is the man there. I'm sure that it is a situation that Wade would not want to remove himself from. Although they do need some help becase Mike Beasley is not panning out how they hoped and they just need another piece to compete, I think it will take A LOT to get wade from the Heat.

HOLLA

Welcome & NBA playoffs

Welcome everyone. This is my first blog here at the blog spot and I'm pretty much gonna be dropping knowledge about sports and different things I have experienced. Sports is really my thing or rap music. I'll more than likely be talking about those the most often and maybe posting some links or YouTube videos of me talking instead of just having you read my thoughts and/or ideas.

But on to what I really wanna talk about is the NBA playoffs. My team, the Spurs, got swept right on outta there ha ha. I mean they still my guys, no fair weather fan here. Next year, with a little youth added we should be right back in business. The suns really shocked me, having the "nuts" to actually buckle down and play some defense for once. I am proud of them. They're still weak though.

Another thing, I was talking to someone about the best players to ever play the game and I think even if you don't like Lebron, you have to place him up there just based on his numbers. Because everyone that knows basketball loves Oscar Robertson and the things he was able to do. But if that's the case then you have to treat Lebron the same way. in the playoffs right now hes averaging 34,9, and 8. That's incredible. Oscar had great numbers but there was nothing too flashy about his game, he could shoot it a little bit, he wasn't a great ball handler, and he really wasn't superior to everyone athletically. But he was a little physically imposing at 6'5 200. Back then that was unheard of. So, his case and LeBron's case is pretty much the same thing, just different eras. You've got to give my man LeBron the nod.

That's it for now, being my first post. I'll be back soon with much more to come.
